Weightloss Update| What I am Learning so far...

Hello peeps.

Long time no weight-loss update. Yes! I’m still on it o. No slacking here. I really have got to reach my goal this time. What happened last year won’t repeat itself.
Push yourself

It has not been easy but I am pushing myself daily. Lately, I have been getting lovely compliments from people. ‘You look lean’, ‘Are you slimming down, cool’ and some annoying ones like ‘why are you losing weight, it would not  be nice if you slim down’ *shaking my head* who cares after all it’s about being healthy.

But the truth is no one really cares about the way I look more than myself. What is most important is that I am healthy. And being healthy means I need to reach my Ideal BMI weight goal.

Here are few things I am learning so far…

Never starve yourself: Starving is bad and can hinder weightloss. If I have to lose weight, I would have to eat my way to it. Yes! ‘Cause if I do starve myself, I end up slowing down my metabolism; resulting to no weightloss and body weakness.

Avoid high calorie foods: I have totally stayed away from junk foods and soft drinks. I have cut out foods that have lots of refined sugar. Whenever I crave for them, I go for apples or popcorn.

No late night meal: Now, I try as much as possible to eat before 8pm. Sometimes, I take fruits when I crave something at night.

Focus more on eating healthy than working out: This cannot be overemphasized when it comes to losing weight. We all know this. If I keep working out and don’t eat healthy, I would not see much result. So I eat more fruits and vegetables now. I also eat protein foods. I have learnt that foods that are high in protein, helps to keep one full.

Drink lots of water: Water is boring but I have learnt to enjoy it. I started with 2litres then 3litres, now 4 litres of water daily. Soon, I’d be drinking 5litres hopefully.

Weight-loss takes time: Since I didn’t add all the weight in a day, I can’t lose it in a day.

Consistency is key: No work, no result. Like they say, lack of discipline is the key to a weight-loss failure. I work out regularly and eat healthy as much as I can. I would definitely not see result if I am not consistent

I can’t do it alone: I have learnt that having a support team keeps me on track. Whether it is a Facebook group, BBM group, friends or even having a coach to monitor you at all times. Most especially, praying for strength from God to keep me going. It has helped a lot. At least, I know I wouldn’t want to disappoint myself and neither do I want to disappoint others.

That’s about it so far on what I am learning on my weight-loss journey. I hope someone finds it useful.

Until next time
