Wash Day

Hello Lovelies,

Harmattan is gone, so I decided to give my hair a treat; nothing special. This was how my first washday of the year went;

1.       Pre-poo: I did a hot oil treatment with coconut oil, castor oil, and avocado oil.
2.       Deep Condition: After my pre-poo, I deep conditioned my hair with an Avocado mix (Avocado,  honey and little conditioner) for 2hours.
3.       Wash and condition:Then, I washed my hair with a Natur Vital Shampoo and conditioned with Natur vital hair mask (see review here) for about 15mins before rinsing with water

4.       I did a tea rinse afterwards before my final rinse

5.       Drying: I t-shirt dried my hair to soak up the water and applied little shea butter and avocado oil to seal in moisture.

6.       Leave-in:  I applied my Beautiful Textures leave-in (review here) and put my hair in 6 big braids before going to bed.

My hair didn’t really turn out soft as expected but my braidout did turn out well.

So I’m thinking the harmattan really dealt with it. I would keep moisturizing daily, hoping to see a difference. Would have my hair in a protective style soon

This is my first wash in 2015, what about you? Have you had your first wash of the year? How did it go?  What are the products you used?

  4. Nice!! I do remember that washing after deep conditioning and then a light conditioner afterwards really does the hair good - thanks for the reminder! I know tea rinses can make my hair feel verrry dry when I pour it on my scalp and hair- but the best way to deal with that is use a moisturizing conditioner right after you put the tea,and let that sit for a while, I think your hair will feel much softer after that. Congrats on a great washday! :-)

  5. Your pre-shampoo mask sounds amazing! How do you prevent little bits of avocado from getting stuck in your hair?
